Jim was commissioned to design and build Craftsman style built-in furniture that turned the room into a comfortable, beautiful, and very functional library. Bookshelves, desk, file drawers, map drawers, and cabinets are all integrated into the design of this room. Careful design work turned wall space into convenient shelf space, and adjusted the proportions of the room to make it an inviting place to work or relax.

This library accomodates modern office equipment, and is integrated into a newer home. But the design work and craftsmanship are what you would expect to find in an elegant home from the early 1900’s.

The client who ordered this queen-size bed needed maximum functionality in a small, awkward space. There is hidden storage space in the headboard, including doors in the side of the headboard. Four file drawers are built into the base of the bed. The headboard extends out beyond the lower part of the bed to fit against a wall with a small ledge. The bed is comfortable to sit in as well as to sleep in, and fits perfectly in the space it was designed for.
