Living room
When your home really is a castle, you need a door to match. This massive oak door (eight feet tall) is perfectly suited to the Gothic style home where it is installed. We are currently working on an oak library for this client. This library has a window seat, bookshelves, and a hidden door in the bookcase.
This arched door entertainment center is made from Cherry with a maple interior.
This corner entertainment center was designed for a client who enjoys and collects art deco style furniture and has a sophisticated sense of whimsy. She was attracted to an entertainment center with arched doors in my portfolio (the one below), so I designed this piece to evoke a classic art deco radio. The larger side arches are cabinets for CDs and DVDs.
The joy of this piece is its clean modern lines.
The design for this door was inspired by the stained glass windows that Frank Lloyd Wright designed for the Coonley Playhouse. In this instance, the client provided all the design work, and Jim executed the design for her in birdseye maple with mahogany accents. Over 300 pieces of wood were precision cut and fitted together to create this door.
The client added art glass to the open spaces after the door was delivered. It is a stunning focal point in her Craftsman-style Seattle home.
